Improving the community - Vote for a witness

First of all, let me start by saying, what it voting.

In a democracy, a government is chosen by voting in an election or it is a way for an electorate to elect.

Who's a witness?
A witness is a person who is required to come to court to answer questions about a case. The answers a witness gives in court are called evidence. Before giving evidence, the witness promises to tell the truth but this definition of a witness is quite different from that steem witness.

Who's a witness on steem?
Basically a witness is recruited by the calling: you have a project, you have a goal, you set yourself objectives within steem and then you get yourself a server and start by providing backup infrastructure to the network.
The first 20 Witnesses make most of the blocks for the blockchian, and are the ones that decide whether a hard-fork is applied, and have in many cases very especialized roles, like user base growth, network infrastructure, economics, support to new users etc.

Improving the community
If I may estimate, everyday about 10 persons or above are been verified and given an account here on steemit as a community member. It's quite understandable that most of them do apply for this accounts due to the benefits(rewards) here without been educated how the community works.
Not every one knows that without a witness on the steem blockchain there would be no steem at all. no steem witness no steemit.com . So how could we improve the steem community ?. Well I have an idea, what about if we try to introduce a "vote for witness" contest that would be held once every month or could be decided, whereby each participant would show a screenshot of some numbers(could be decided) of voted witnesses and give reasons why he/she have voted that witness.
I believe this will have a huge impact to the community and to the witnesses all well, not just only voting for voting sake but voting with reasons which definitely you would be rewarded and also keep the steem blockchain from dying.
