We already have the governance (witness) system in place that can work.
DPOS works.
Which brings me to my final words on this:
Anyone can do what they wish with their Steem.
Meaning that any owner of Steem and/or SBD is entitled to freely do as they believe is best for them and their assets (tokens).
Note: As stated, "It can work". Has been proven to date. All depends on the one and only governance that calls the shots.
