The damp, fungus smelling home, HF22 & why QA is needed!

in #witness5 years ago (edited)

I was planning to post about the aftermath of the flood, now anyway let me combine both!

One of the 2 dry beds

So, just realized once your home is say 60% under water, your beds, coats etc will be floating around. Obviously they will be wet.

I am quite allergic to fungi and have issues with too much wetness. So, I am getting the one of the only 2 beds which are fully dry. Other one is given to the 2 kids.

Oh, yes, you can't simply walk in get new beds as its mostly out of stock.

(The kit in the picture is a relief kit from someone .. )

fungus grows ....

Well, when you come back and clean an entire home, try to repair fridge, washing machine, fix wiring etc, you may not clean the side rooms or the doors.

Fungus and mushrooms grows on those hidden places.

Rats on the roof

The cat died in the flood.

And, may be the rats lost their homes too.

So where do they live now ?

(oh, yea, they are just above my bed.)

What I do ?

For last 2 floods, I have been volunteering at the best of my technical capacity. I had managed to get in touch with Top most government officials because of this. Here I found the the PDNA (aka Post Disaster Needs Assessment Survey) is not happened yet. So, I had the reach to cross check.

Sympathy Votes.

This post can be very seen as a cheap tactic to win some lost witness votes.

Here is a witness who works to keep the chain healthy all the while he is neck deep in water!

(see he has proofs too!)

wow, more proofs!

Ok, here is the

no, its not the point. Lets cut the CRAP.

Quality Assurance and planned releases

Whether its rocket science or blockchain software, we need to make sure that the code is tested with sufficient enough QA. We can't have a blockchain rocket engine halt middle flight.

The only way to perfect is by testing.

Making a rocket is quite easy but making sure that its launches successfully or lands, reaches the escape velocity, attaches to a space station or successfully launches a satellite every time in a predictable manner is not easy. This the only thing that makes "rocket science" difficult. Good software is no different.

enough lecture.

We have excellent developers. I personally admire and adore them.

Do we have a full fledged QA that a public facing, social platform that we are deserves ?

Witness or not we all have lot of things do in life than keep hard-forking software .... I cannot evangelize best software development practices in a better way than this!

Sort:

Oh boy, flood sucks! Stay safe.

I don’t see any open window btw, only ubuntu.

I am safe ... thanks :)

The open windows - as in the real window :)

down voted for self promotion and sarcasm and repeating the lecture from software 101

Another reason for down voting is this guy seems to know some QA folks!
