NOBLEWITNESS UPDATE - Now on v20.3!
Another week down, another witness update from the @noblewitness team! Thank you to everyone voting for us. We will continue to earn your votes!
Server Status
Hardfork 20 was officially adopted yesterday. The official release was 20.2, which we updated to prior to the hardfork, but shortly after the release, an updated version--20.3--was released. We had some technical difficulties in updating our servers to this new official version, but early this morning, we crossed the Rubicon. We are officially up and running on v20.3!
I would like to thank all of the people in the witness channel on steem.chat for their indispensable help. I'd especially like to thank @someguy123, who was with me (@anarcho-andrei) practically every step of the way. I learned a tremendous amount about docker and steemd through this experience. I'd also like to thank @therealwolf for his assistance. All of you guys there helped @noblewitness make it through the firestorm that was Hardfork 20!
Our current witness ranking is 66 (58 out of active witnesses).
Current Projects
Steem.Agency - Steem has been the basis for a plethora of programs and apps. Unfortunately, there are many that are no longer supported. Sometimes the Steemian that developed the app decides to move on, or they don't have the funding to continue development. Well, @sircork has revived a number of tools through his website Steem.Agency. There are also a number of links to our witness and the initiatives we support, such as YouAreHOPE and Steemshelves.
Steemerica - We've got plans in motion for our very own major Steem conference here in the United States. There are a large number of amazing gatherings already (Steem Creatives comes to mind), but what we'd like to do is have one central event where everyone can come. Steem in the United States! We're still in the earliest stages of planning, but keep your eyes peeled for more updates as time goes on.
Steemfiesta Peru - @sircork is going down to South America to represent the @noblewitness team in Peru. He’s peerless when it comes to marketing and branding, so we expect great things from him going down there. It’s also going to be a great opportunity for him to expand YouAreHope operations in that corner of the globe.
Steemfest Poland - It’s still a little ways away, but our tried and true @gmuxx is going to be representing the witness team at Steemfest. With a little luck, @rhondak will be accompanying him on the trip as well.
Closing Thoughts
There's been a lot of opinions being tossed out about what's going on with HF20. When it was first adopted, the new resource credit (RC) system went haywire calculating all the resource costs of all the transactions on the chain. This left just about everyone unable to use Steemit or transact on the blockchain. However, I'd like to point out that in just 48 hours, we're seeing interaction again--albeit on a limited scale. This is going to continue to improve over the next few days as the new algorithms for determining the scope of activity for each user start to reach their equilibrium.
Great update. I remain nonplussed and am sitting tight... I've made a post (was it worth it - maybe maybe not - no one around to vote on it) and I am starting to comment a little. My Mana / RC, along with everyone else, is still recharging. It was a bit of a fire storm and I'm sure it was hectic on your side but we are on the other side of it now. No where to go but forward.
That's our thinking precisely. It's only been getting back to normal from here, and it's not going to take much longer before everything is back to 100%. Steemd is already showing the different bars for the voting mana and RC mana.
