RE: Witness "pjau" Update Week 49

Wow. There's a lot to unpack here. :) And unfortunately, it's not so cut and dry, which only complicates things.

I guess to the heart of the matter is this—there are no organizations currently on chain that deal with rewards disagreements, right? The main thing I got out of the back and forth here is that one party thought the other party should do something even though their mandate is spam, and plagiarism.

I mean, $9.50-ish on a random comment is over-the-top. It's not your fault, though. I guess you could say, Hey, magic dice, take me off your randomizer list. I haven't gone that far myself, even if I wish people would quit using their bots to upvote my stuff. Saying something feels like burning bridges, or being ungrateful, with a little bit of self-righteousness mixed in.

As long as there are no rules governing the use of stake, it's going to be the double-edged sword. Hey, but if you did tell magic dice to "knock it off," at least you wouldn't be "a hypocrite." :)

Anyway. Can't even play magic dice without the drama. Great. :)

As far as I know, that is correct. I mean @steemflagrewards does have a "bid bot abuse" category, but in general not anything for flagging something because it has "too much" payout on it.

I don't disagree. To be honest I never ever thought I would get a vote at all. The problem is, it is @magicdice 's stake, they can do with it as they will. The delegators to it hold the power, they should really be the people that have the say in it as they are the ones delegating to it.

But anyway, if @steemcleaners got involved with reward disagreements, that would just open up a lot of things, I mean basically anything could be flagged then for whatever reason.. haha It would be chaos.

I agree. Nothing would be safe, which is why I'm not inclined to downvote on the basis of rewards anyway. If there's phishing going on, definitely. If there's spamming and plagiarism, I'll draw attention to it (usually someone already has). I always feel, especially the size of the upvote I could do, that it wouldn't be much more than symbolic, and I generally find a better use for it.

Speaking of steamcleaners—is there something going on? I just read a post from a rather large account saying he (I think it was a he—can't remember their name) wasn't going to help support them anymore because someone there was going after him? Or at least that's what I got out of it.

I know from a different case last year that you and I spoke about that there have been some folks that are overzealous, I'll say, in their quest for putting an end to plagiarism, in particular.

Sometimes that is all that is needed 😊

is there something going on

Not sure who you are talking about, but there are a number of high stakes (as well as low) that want us gone so they have free reign to spam with out anyone stopping them.

Okay. I found the post again (minor miracle). There's a comment made a ways down about "cleaners cleaning cleaners." As far as being a spammer goes, I guess the user may have copied from somewhere else, at least once, maybe more, but he acknowledges where it came from. That probably violates some rule of etiquette, but the other posts I've seen don't appear to be spam to me.
