Have You Voted For The Witnesses Yet? Why Must You And How Can You Vote!
First of all for those who still don't know what a Witness is, they are simply the soul of the Steemit blockchain.
They are 30 nodes on the blockchain that helps the Steemit community to get their post processed, the Steem going, they handle the block creation and solve for the proof of stack. In a simple word they are the superheroes of Steemit community who stay in shadows and work in the background by investing the biggest share in terms of manpower and the resources.
The reason why there are only 30 of them is to prevent the control of the policy of running the blockchain falling into bad hands.
Whenever a person tries to mine for Steemit and finds out the first block that user is automatically added to the witness list, After that the user presents his case to the Steemit community as in why should we make them a witness what would be the resources provided by them, what will be their policies.
What you have to do now is you have to vote for 30 of them the top 30 people with the highest share of votes bill be the witness and from that 30 the top 19 will have the first responsibility to generate the bocks to keep the Steem node running and if any of the top witness fails the responsibility is handed over to the next 11 backup witnesses in lines.
Yes of course you have to vote to it is a way of supporting the hard work being done by the witnesses for which they deserve huge appreciation.
It is also true that they receive 1 Steem per block as their incentive but do you think all they deserve is just an incentive? The do deserve a standing ovation too they do deserve your upvotes.
You will wind the option to vote the Witness by clicking the three parallel lines on top right of your Steemit page.
Here you will see a list of the top 50 witnesses and their respective witness thread where they propose their input and dedication, if you like to vote somebody else apart from these 50 you will have the box at the bottom where you can enter the name.
So see how easy it is? What are you waiting for stop doing whatever you are doing right now and go ahead and upvote our super heroes.

Very good post and informative. it's very important that Steemians vote on us witness's.
We work hard to support the Steem blockchain and support Steemit users. And it's very important that readers go to a witness's intro post and read what they are all about.
Like you mentioned, every Steemian has up to 30 votes they can place and it does NOT affect their Steem power at all. Its very easy to Vote on a witness.

Steemit is a very complex system, so thanks for the explanation. It is needed with the amount of newbies coming aboard and just how fast steem posts get buried.
