RE: The Reports from the Witnesses 2018-04-22
I asked 2 account sellers and got no response from either.
How can an account be sold?
Once it is owned, its passwords are knowable to its owner, and the buyer seems to be at risk. What does it mean when one account creates another?
Does it mean the creator has the created's passwords?
Or does it only mean that it paid for it?How does account restoration work?
How is it possible?
Does it not mean that it can be hacked by whatever party created or restored it?

- The sale would be done "off-chain". You would arrange with the person you want to sell the account to. Person A would send funds to person B, and person B would send their keys to person A. Technically the blockchain supports an 'escrow' service, but you would need to find someone willing to fill that role and with the technical know-how to do it. As soon as person B sends the keys to person A, person A would immediately change their keys. It would take 30 days before person B would no longer be able to "recover" the account though using the stolen account recovery.
- There are lots of different services to create accounts, and how the keys are handled depends on the method used. To create an account, someone needs to generate a public/private key pair. This is usually done by the person creating the account, but it could be done by the person whose account it will be. To actually create the account, the creator just needs to call the 'create account' API and supply the public keys.
