Welcome! I spent a long time in 2013 setting up a bitcoin meetup in Nashville. It ended up taking up a bunch of my time and then spun off into a non-profit they voted me into which was an even bigger time suck. For now, I'm fine with virtual meetups, but I will try to get to the many meetups that are already going on here. There are a few BitShares/Stemit fans in town, so setting up a meeting shouldn't be too hard. Meetup.com is helpful.
