RE: Steem Consensus Witness Statement : Hardfork 0.23 (Codename: New Steem)
I hear you, but i think a lot of people feel the same anout the hive situation too. Two wrongs definitely dont make it right. I'm just explaining the current sentiment.
Those upset about not getting a HIVE airdrop are in no way similar to the people righteously indignant at this blatant theft of STEEM tokens.
Most of those denied an airdrop were complicit in Justin Sun's hostile takeover. They didn't want HIVE, and in turn, HIVE doesn't want them. Those remaining denied an airdrop by mistake have an avenue to request remedy.
Sun is instead seizing assets from accounts, destroying the core concept of blockchain security. He is doing so because he was rightly criticized and opposed due to concerns that he might do exactly what he did. The soft fork freeze may have been ill-advised, but in hindsight, Sun never intended to honor the terms of the Steemit stake. His Terms of Servoce are unilateral dictates for censorship and theft, not an agreement between user and site administrator.
You do you man. I've had this conversation multiple times with different users and the fundamental gap in the differing philisophies are just too great for both sides to come to an underatanding.
You guys probably think we are crazy, but funnily enough thats what people on this side say about hive people. Anyways, thanks for at least not resorting to ad hominem and not posting dick pics. Thats refreshing and i mean that in a sincere manner.
I am still the Steem Pope. Standards must be upheld, and my departure is reluctant. I was here for the community, and the community was attacked. I am just waiting for my power-down to complete. I will retain some stake here in hopes that matters improve, but for now, I think HIVE remains the best option, at least in the near term.
Heh. Good luck sir.
