Some thoughts on the Steem blockchain!
Hardfork 20 and, witness update!
I'm building applications on the Steem blockchain because I believe in Steem with all of its problems (centralization and etc)
Development is not an easy job. It is normal to see bugs after an update in any software. This is why we should test any update before launching in production.
I'm operating several steem nodes for production usage. For example, Steemauto needs private and dedicated RPC node to operate in maximum capacity.
This week, Steemit inc. released 5 patches (so far) for Steem blockchain and reindexing each patch takes several hours up to several days for full nodes. This is why Steem wallet is closed on all of the exchanges. I think those exchanges will open Steem wallet in a few days after stable release.
At least we have @blocktrades as an always available exchange for Steem users: https://blocktrades.us
I'm trying to bring value to the Steem blockchain. I will support any positive activity on Steem blockchain.
I think we need more ways to attract investors, users, and developers. I think if we just attract more regular users, investors and developers will come through.
We can not bring Youtube to the Steem blockchain because we don't have such viewers or active users in the Steem blockchain. More active users will bring more applications to try Steem.
I think with Discounted Account Creation system (using RC), we may achieve more active users by implementing the instant registration system to the Steem blockchain.
More active users will enable Steem blockchain to use advertisement. We can make the world's largest blockchain community. A place to introduce decentralized applications to the more talented users.
All of these will bring value to the Steem blockchain without considering SMT!

Should we wait for Steemit inc. to develop all of these? No. This will take years!
Let's create and support more groups of people to work on the Steem blockchain. It is possible with the help of the Steem community.

The latest released version of Steem blockchain is v0.20.5
My witness node and seed node is already on the latest version. Steemauto is also on the latest version.
Now, Steemauto should work without any problem. (But, low RC may prevent you from upvoting or posting)

Totally agree with your thoughts here and take it one step further as I do not believe Steemit Inc should be the only group developing the code for the blockchain; at least going forward. After 20 Hard forks, you should expect this responsibility to decentralize more than it has and I believe that it could now be a consequence of these lastest experiences.

I agree, mass contributions by Indie Developers contributions will help more than relying on the core team. That being said, it's hard to find resources outside of some YouTube videos and a udemy class on how to deploy on the STEEM blockchain. Are you aware of any solid info?
Thanks for sharing @mahdiyari. It makes sense a huge change to the blockchain software will have unforeseen problems to iron out before everything is back to normal.
Will the markets be unavailable for long? I didn’t realize the markets were down and tried it buy a small amt of steem and that is in transient now.

I think if we stay in this version (v0.20.5), it will take a few weeks for exchanges to enable STEEM
That is why we prefer fewer patches or upgrades.
I Belive too and thats why i have integratet Steem into my Paid4Community netzis.de. netzis.de is a Paid4Community where user get Paid for their activity. This year i registered on steem and after trying it i knew i have to integrate it to my community. Now user can earn twice with writing, voting, commenting and also can earn with reading.
Currently the activity is low because its new, but i hope they will use it more and more.
Because i belive i have bought 1000 Steem (i woul more if i could) so i can upvote my users and reward them for their activity
