There seems to be this idea that only content creators add value to Steem. This might have been the case in 2016 but this is 2018 and things have changed a lot since then. This blockchain is not Proof of Good content but Proof of Brain. Also the blockchain now is much more than just Steemit.com.

In 2016 people have earned rewards with absolute garbage on steemit.com without having to own a single SP themselves (they used their brain though, good for them). This no longer flies. If you want to be rewarded for producing garbage you need SP (a lot) or use a bit bot. It's not free by any means.

If you are producing amazing content but don't get the rewards you think you deserve you are doing something wrong. It's up to you to figure out what it is and improve. It's that harsh.

The proof of Brain protocol is now in full effect. Everyone has an opportunity to use their Brain and earn rewards by any means here but it's getting tougher and tougher as more people/projects join.

Simply put if content creation is no longer the best way to earn STEEM then people will have to find new ways. Be innovative. Some people can do this and some can't. But this is how new and better idea's are born.

Steem Monsters is my absolute favourite proof of brain account on the Blockchain because they show perfectly what you can do to earn Steem here when you use your Brain. And they deserve all the success they get.

(But even with all their effort Steem Monsters have not even surpassed the amount of STEEM the top 2 accounts earned with blogging in the early days of Steem. But man, are they adding 100x more value)

As a content creator and an investor in STEEM I'm waiting for new ways to use my STEEM. I would love to delegate it to projects that add value to Steem for a good ROI. My end game is not blogging even though I like it, I fully understand that the blockchain would benefit way more if I use my STEEM in a way to help it grow.

Bitbots show delegation for ROI works. Even though not everyone might agree with them just think of similar projects that give out a similar ROI as bitbots but are adding value (that you want to support) to the blockchain instead.

I'm 100% convinced these are coming. Just need the right proof of brain project to come along.

Changing anything about the current reward model is a mistake and the only good option is to wait for SMT's.

SMT's opens the door to hundreds of economic models for Dapps/Communities to try and content creators will flock to the once that will benefit them the most.

And we will also probably find that different communities/projects benefit from different economic models.

SMT's will open a whole new door of Proof of Brain.

I would recommend not even risking derailing the moving STEEM train with any changes to the rewards model until SMT's are released.
