Have you ever wondered what it would be like to get a scolding from a Wizard like Gandalf The Grey? Well... not really a scolding but words of wisdom, and @gtg nailed it I think.

He caught me when I was updating my seed node to 0.16.1 the other day but I just thought how he commented was great. He is correct about his statement though.

Edit: I didn't even have it configured correctly in the first place... smh.

Anyways,

  • Updated to the latest soft fork version 0.16.1 for both seed and witness node.

  • SBD pegging: APR 4%, Price Feed bias at 2%, and account creation fee set at 30 STEEM(thanks to @someguy123 with some help with the pegging)

  • Continuing to learn :)

Witness server:

  • Google VPS
  • Single Core CPU
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 100 GB SSD
  • version 0.16.1

Seed node:

Update: Thanks to @abit and @gtg, now this noob has a properly running node, for the most part...

    Seed node:
    10.128.0.4:2001
    version 0.16.1

    You may know that 10.128.0.4 is a LAN/private IP address, so others won't be able to connect to it by adding it to config.ini, for example:

    D:\>telnet 10.128.0.4 2001
Connecting To 10.128.0.4...Could not open connection to the host, on port 2001: Connect failed

    To get your external IP address of your VPS, try this command:

    curl ipinfo.io/ip

    You may need to allow incoming connection to the 2001 port, perhaps set it in your VPS control panel.
