I have moved SFHL activities to a dedicated account: @sfhl. With the proposed decrease in the SP withdraw period, it will become viable to liquidate much of the SP posting rewards in order to fund the prize pool. This makes it possible to enjoy the benefits of easier administration and book keeping, as well to allow additional users to post league content independently.

Why is a fantasy hockey league in my witness update?

This fantasy league is the first proof-of-concept for some of the ideas I posted about that I hope will bring users to the site and increase the engagement and retention.

SFHL is a community building effort.

Fully half of the league participants are new users, who joined the site/platform specifically to play in this fantasy league. We have been very successful in raising funds to furnish prizes. We are also providing the opportunity to "wager" on matches using a format similar to the wildly popular SteemSports.

Building off of the successes of SFHL, I am looking forward to working with other community members to expand into daily fantasy sports and streamline the process of bootstrapping a fantasy league. It's my hope that we will soon have several leagues calling Steem/it home, across a number of sports, and a growing community of DFS players as well.
