Cleansing and Purification

Cleanliness doesn't only have to do with the body, it also spans the psychic and astral realms. Some people have unclean spiritual methods - unable to control their energy, leaving pieces of negativity everywhere they go, and this causes others to feel uneasy and/or disarmed by that negative energy laying around. A responsible practitioner will cleanse and utilize rites of purification to cleanse and purify mind, body, and spirit, along with sacred spaces in and outside of the home, and the tools used for magical or mundane purposes. Doing this with beverages can accomplish purification and cleansing in multiple ways, because you can ingest and cleanse from the inside, or you can sprinkle it on objects (that won’t rust and that liquid won’t ruin). You can also burn herbs and use the smoke to purify and cleanse. In any situation, be mindful of allergies, asthma, and medication interactions.

Common cleansing and purification ingredients are as follows:
Acacia, Alkanet, Anise, Asafoetida, Bay, Benzoin, Birch Bark, Bloodroot, Blue Cohosh, Broom, Cayenne, Cedar, Chamomile, Coconut, Euphorbia, Fennel, Frankincense, Horseradish, Hyssop, Lavender, Lemon, Lemon Verbena, Lovage, Marjoram,Mesquite, Mimosa, Mint, Oak Leaves, Peppermint, Pine, Rosemary, Rue, Sage, Snapdragon, Thyme, Valerian, Wintergreen, Wood Betony, Yucca, Grapefruit, Lime, Water, Orange, Pepper, Vinegar, Honey, Cinnamon, Rosemary, Onion, Beer, Salt, White beverages, Rum, Garlic.
