Menhir Stone Maek

Nagari Maek or Mahat, maybe the name of this area is not as popular as other regions in the land of Minang. But who would have thought Maek kept clear evidence that the original Minangkabau ancestors had existed since prehistoric times or megalithic times (Great Stone Age) around 1000-3000 BC, this is evidenced by the presence of Menhir in the Nagari Maek. According to archaeologists, Menhir is used for religious purposes and has symbolic meaning as a means of worshiping ancestral spirits.
