WIN WITH STEEM : The Contest of the Week Contest - 25 STEEM to be won

Contests are good news for Steem.

They are a great way for newcomers especially to get involved on the platform, and they are a great way for people to earn STEEM without needing to rely on post rewards.

And I believe contests have great potential as a marketing tool to bring more people to Steem.

There are already many contests running but I want to encourage more, and I want to help people make them better.

So I am launching the Contest of the Week Contest...

The Contest of the Week Contest

Every week I am going to be looking for the best contests on the platform.

This Contest will run each week until midnight UTC on the Friday. I will then select and announce the winners on the Saturday.

There will be one winner, and two runner-ups each week.

The winner will get 15 STEEM, and the two runner-ups will each get 5 STEEM.

I will be on the look out throughout the week for the best contests, but I also invite you to nominate your favourite contest in the comments of this post.

You are also welcome to nominate your own contests.

To nominate a contest leave a link to the contest in a comment below, and include a very brief reason for why you think it is a good contest.

Only currently running contests can be nominated. Contests can be in any language.

What Makes a Good Contest

Everyone may have their own views on this, but these are what I think makes a good contest...

• Clear and simple instructions of how to enter the contest - don't make it complicated !

• An unambiguous statement of when the contest closes - with an actual date and UTC time - don't just say "when the post expires".

• Attractive prizes - ideally STEEM (minimum 5 STEEM for a first prize) or sizeable upvotes.

• Being open to everyone in any language.

• No requirements for resteems or upvotes to enter.

And ideally there should be an element of novelty or fun to the contest as well.

I believe Contests have great potential to build social engagement on Steem, and to attract people to the platform.

I hope this contest will encourage more and ever better contests.
