Rich, dark, seamless and gorgeous, the 2011 flows across the palate with enticing scents of mocha, tobacco, new leather, licorice and plum. This is a remarkably sophisticated, polished wine for the year, with all the elements in the right place. Sweet spices, savory herbs, menthol and licorice all resonate on the finish. The 2011 could use another few years for the tannins to soften, but it is striking today just the same. With time in the glass, the aromatics become even more prominent. Sweet rose petals, spices and mint all add considerable complexity. In 2011 Merlot was less problematic across the board than Cabernet Sauvignon, so it forms the core in this vintage. About the Wine:
Second Flight Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted in the same manner as the Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes used are extremely high-quality but just miss qualifying for the Screaming Eagle program.

Starting with the 2010 Screaming Eagle and the Screaming Eagle Second, all bottles come with a bubble coded security system that allows Screaming Eagle the ability for online, verification of authenticity. This label is attached between the foil and the bottle. The creates a serious anti counterfeiting measure that cannot be detached without the seal and foil being visibly damaged. Consumers can go to the Screaming Eagle website and enter the serial number of the bottle to find out if the bottle is genuine.
