RE: Wine tastings

in #wine7 years ago

So cool! I love so many blended wines. I didn't know Connecticut had a wine trail!

This actually isn't a local wine. Picked it up from a local liquor store. ;-)

I lived in Central Texas for some time, about an hour away from a couple of good wine trails. I have some great memories from visiting them over the last ten years. I now live in Utah... where it is so difficult to get much. I miss my selection, my local flavors, and the ease of purchasing. I try a few new bottles each time I visit the liquor store but still haven't found my favorites out here. Figured I'd start "documenting" it so I can remember when I find one I'd buy again. :-)

But... Connecticut's wine trail is now on my bucket list!

They make it fun to visit the local wineries. 37 of the Ct. wineries participate and give away a "passport" and as you visit each one you get a stamp, at the end of the year you return yours to a wine shop and they give away prizes of wine and wine related travel. It's a great program.

Fun! Have you ever filled one?

Oh no, no chance. We did 13 this year and brought friends back to a few of our favorites. We bring some cheese, some chocolate, some nuts, or some little meal to nosh. Almost none of the wineries here sell food of snacks as that would constitute the need for a restaurant licence...but that's just life in Connecticut.

Ha ha. I imagine it would be hard to do. 😉
Most of ours in tx would do the minimum cheese and crackers and such. Maybe the laws are different.
