Chardonnay used to be one of my favorite white wines when I was still drinking. I prefer a lightly oaked, less acidic chard. Have you ever tried Chateu St Michelle's Indian Wells Chardonnay? It might be too buttery for you but I loved it.
I am familiar with the CSM Indian Wells Chard, I don't remember the last time I had it though!
