i've never much liked plums, nor am i big on wine, but i imagine this would make a decent wine for the taste! i've always wanted to taste a peach wine. so many luxuries in life that could be easily made if we but put in the effort to learn the process..
My peach wine making efforts did not end all that well...
I think store bought peach wine would be a lot better than what I ended up with. I think I used the wrong wine yeast when I made the peach wine a few years ago.
oh well. i guess thats why people pay for others to make it. i bought some cherry rum today to do with my ginger peach mule. pirates are eccentric.
That could be a really good combination, or it could be too much like cough syrup...LOL
i shall have to try and report on it. i just figured the peach and ginger would outweigh the cherry. all the other rum flavors (lemon, lime, coconut, banana, melon, orange, apple, raspberry, pineapple) didnt strike me as mixing any better, and they didnt have a clear rum that wasnt priced a lot more. actually melon or apple might have been ok, but they werent stocked. also i wanted something i might use in coffee. plus my theory is, if its too strong, just add more ice...
Yep, ice dilutes everything. :-)
i had some of that cherry rum in my coffee this morn. i feel like a lush but it was tasty..
:-)

Making your own wine is so cool, I want to try plum wine now :D
Making wine isn't really very hard, you just need to have the basic equipment to do it.
Is It odd that I expected this sentence:
to end with, "so I had a party!"
How long will it be before you can drink the plum wine you are making now?
LOL That would be one heck of a party, wouldn't it?
It usually takes at least a year for the wine to age enough to be good tasting, except for apple wine, that seems to mellow out a lot faster and it's usually not yeasty tasting after about 6 months or so.
Interesting. I'll look forward to your taste test in a year then :)
"I want a new Mercedes!"
Is my favorite Wine!
An interesting whine indeed! LOL
I love wine, plum wine sounds lovely.
I hope it turns out well. I've had some really good successes, and some really crappy results with my wine making efforts. :-)
Did you buy a certain kind of yeast to do this?
Yes, I used a specific wine yeast for this batch of wine. There are a lot of different types of wine yeast available, the type of yeast that you use depends on what you're making the wine from, how much alcohol you want it to have, and how sweet, or dry you want the wine to be when it's done.
It's good to see you know what you are doing. I saw people make wine at home using yeast from the store. It was nasty stuff lol lol.
Yeah, I've had wine that was made using bread yeast...it's not the best...
My dad's friends do that. They are kinda of idiots though lol.
Realy beautiful post
