FOR Contest - Photography - 23-March-2018

in #window-photo6 years ago

This is my entry for the photography contest organized by @monajam. You can find the contest here.

Brief description:

I took these snaps a few days ago while I was out in the town with my family. The photos show an old house near the railway station which is definitely out of function for a good few decades.

The only decorations this building has, are the wall scribbles, the graffiti, that various city artists left on it to 'repair' its deteriorating condition.

The town does not remove any art expressions from the old buildings as they are considered to be an 'improvement', so unless the scribbles are not a rock bottom expression of vandalism they remain and decorate old buildings like this one.

I am pretty sure this building served as a warehouse, but still, I can't find any information on it anywhere online, no address on the Google maps or address of the street. The street on which it stands is called the Unnamed street.

The whole building, including the windows which are small from this distance, looks not only abandoned but also haunted. The thing is, this building is facing the main city road and it is almost in the town's center.

It's quite an interesting story that the town does not remove the scribbles and graffiti. That is very rare in most places. It's a great idea and I love the story behind it
