Deer on a rainy day in the woods. This cute little guy was with his younger sister that was too camera shy to capture on film.

Two great photos! Love to see the deer - we only get city deer in these parts, I'll show you sometime. voted & resteemed :-)

thanks @keithboone once a deer has seen the big city ...

Yes indeed! we have so many in Victoria it is just crazy. They have been known to wait for lights to change at busy intersections and then walk across the cross-walk. I'm serious, there was a half page photo in the local newspaper showing this... Mom, and three little fawns. I see them all the time, they are so completely tame.

Yours appear to be the same species. Mule deer, correct? We have wild turkeys too, but I don't see them in town.

We call them blacktailed deer. I think mule deer and blacktailed deer are the same species. The blacktailed is a subspecies. Wild turkeys run rampant here. Stop traffic. I live in a suburb with some boundaries to open areas that have lots of wildlife. And a creek that runs trough a small valley and acts as a haven and corridor for wildlife

That would be the same. On Vancouver Island, ours are yet another sub-species, slightly smaller than on the mainland. Something like 4/5ths scale I believe. Your second photo gives a lovely view of the natural area, it looks really nice! Have a great weekend!
