The red squirrel or Eurasian red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris)

As I said earlier, this squirrel collected moss and carried it to itself in a hollow. As you can see, she has already shed, almost changed her coat to winter style.
Often, squirrels live in hollows that previously served as the home of various birds, mostly woodpeckers. And occasionally they live in the so-called natural hollows, which are formed by themselves, from the weather, over time, or the wind tears off some branch, I think you understand.
In this case, the squirrel occupied the former abandoned woodpecker dwelling. And with moss she covered the walls to insulate, because the cold winter lies ahead.
Squirrels living in coniferous forests make nests themselves, just like birds. But I’ve never seen anything like this before.
