Wildflower series ~ Not quite Dandelions
In black and white, you'd think this is a massive clump of dandelions but in fact, it's a little bush in the vernonia genus, a member of the daisy family with purple flowers. I posted a couple of purple-flowered bushes last month and now they are seeding.
They looked like these when they were flowering but there are a number of similar flowered plants, differing only in leaf shape and size and the way that the flower-heads are arranged
We also have a lot of dandelions growing. But these blue flowers remind me of chicory flowers
Nice close up photos!
