Wildflower series ~ Hypoxis interjecta
There are a number of different Hypoxis species growing together on the hill and they all have the same attractive yellow flowers although the leaf shapes are all different. They are plants that bloom in the early part of the day and close in the late afternoon after their bee pollinators have retired for the day. Yellow flowers are most visible to bees.
All Hypoxis species have an underground bulb and they aren't found in the hottest parts of the hill, mainly the East face which only gets morning sun and at the bottom of the water course where more water is available.
Little yellow flower couldn't look any more perfect. :-)
Little stars!
