So I was cruzin the internet reading up on weird shit and I stumbled across this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamophobia

I was kind of wondering where the term islamophobia was started, I had no clue the level of bullshit I would stumble into. Just trying to read it I think I got cancer, aids, herpies, Malaria and Islamophobia-phobia. Yes there is a section on islamophobia-phobia, I am not joking.

As quick as I could I ran to the washing machine to grab the bleach bottle, DAMN! empty from the last otherkin video I forced myself to sit thru.......

Im just going to have to deal with it, I guess venting the frustration is the best option............

Islamophobia From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not to be confused with Criticism of Islam. Islamophobia or Muslimophobia is the prejudice, hatred, or bigotry directed against Islam or Muslims.
Good use of key words right? Its strange that prejudice, hatred or bigotry have nothing to do with fear when phobia is:

So how is prejudice, hatred or bigotry the same as irrational fear and extreme aversion and why is it that any time someone criticizes Islam they get called an islmaophobe?

The causes and characteristics of Islamophobia are still debated. Some scholars have defined it as a form of cultural racism. Some commentators have posited an increase in Islamophobia resulting from the September 11 attacks, while others have associated it with the increased presence of Muslims in the United States and in the European Union.
Cause and characteristics of Islamophobia are not still debated, people kill in the name of Allah and in return people are scared of getting killed. no debate there.
Who are these scholars that have defined it as a form of "cultural racism" and what are they a scholar of? scholar of Islam maybe? The amount of fear (islamophobia) rose after the 9/11 attack, well no shit. A group of Muslims fly a couple planes into some buildings killing a bunch of people and your surprised the level of fear (islmaophobia) towards the group of people that did it grows? the influx of muslims is not creating the fear (islmaphobia) that is growing, it is the growing amount of terrorism they are bringing with them that people fear(islamophobia).

Terms: There are a number of other possible terms to refer to negative feelings and attitudes towards Islam and Muslims, such as anti-Muslimism, anti-Muslim racism, intolerance against Muslims, anti-Muslim prejudice, anti-Muslim bigotry, hatred of Muslims, anti-Islamism, Muslimophobia, demonisation of Islam, or demonisation of Muslims
Hey, Even though phobia is fear and has nothing to do with negative feelings here are a bunch of key words you can call people when they say something critical or negative about Islam. Make sure to yell it as loud as you can, over and over, so eventual they shut up. If that doesn't work you can always resort to covering your ears and yelling "lalalalalalalaalalalalalalalalala"

In German, Islamophobie (fear) and Islamfeindlichkeit (hostility) are used.
Ahhh, So the Germans use words correctly. Interesting, I wonder what the German Wikipedia page says about Islamophobie . (fill me in Germans)

In French, the contest is in part between islamophobie and racisme anti-arabe, or racisme anti-maghrébin, the latter two phrases indicating that the phenomenon is mainly seen as a form of anti-immigrant racism without having theological and cultural connotations.
Ummm...........So, only islmaophobia (fear of getting killed by islam) has religious and cultural overtones ? raciest-anti-arab, or raciest-anti-migrant don't have cultural implications? is it always opposite day in France?

The Scandinavian term Muslimhat literally means ‘hatred of Muslims’
in Scandinavian there is no Islmaophobia only hate for Muslims! :O

When discrimination towards Muslims placed an emphasis on their religious affiliation and adherence, it has been termed as Muslimphobia, its alternative form of Muslimophobia, Islamophobism, antimuslimness and antimuslimism. Individuals who discriminate against Muslims in general have been termed Islamophobes, Islamophobists, anti-Muslimists, antimuslimists, islamophobiacs, anti-Muhammadan, Muslimphobes or its alternative spelling of Muslimophobes,
Oh, Nice! More key words to yell out when someone says something critical of a Muslims religious affiliation and adherence. "Have discrimination for people that are in isis? your antimuslimists!" " Don't like that someone is being faithful to a religion that murders in the name of their god? Islamophobe!"

while individuals motivated by a specific anti-Muslim agenda or bigotry have been described as being anti-mosque, anti-Shiites. (or Shiaphobes), anti-Sufism (or Sufi-phobia) and anti-Sunni (or Sunniphobes).
Shiites, Sufi and Sunnis are in a holy war with each other, does that count as motivation by a specific anti-Muslim (Shiites, Sunnis, or Sufi) agenda? if so all Muslims fall into this category? do we then get to also say that they are bigots and in connection say they are anti-mosque or even anti-Muslim? if we are going to say fear(phobia) is the same as hate then why cant we say one Muslims hate for another group of Muslims based only on the Muslim religion the other group believes in is not in fact islmaophobia?

Etymology and definitions:

The word Islamophobia is a neologism formed from Islam and -phobia, a suffix used in English to form "nouns with the sense ‘fear of ——’, ‘aversion to ——’." The compound form Islamo- contains the thematic vowel -o-, and is found in earlier coinages such as Islamo-Christian from the 19th century.
So Wikipedia is now trying to say that fear of something or having a strong dislike for something is phobic? earlier it was the prejudice, hatred, or bigotry. I do not see extreme or irrational in there. without the extreme or irrational its just fear and aversion and there for, not phobic. The idea of Islamo-Christians is astounding to me. Imagine the level of mental gymnastics that must take.

Debate on the term and its limitations

In 1996, the Runnymede Trust established the Commission on British Muslims and Islamophobia, chaired by Gordon Conway, the vice-chancellor of the University of Sussex. The Commission's report, Islamophobia: A Challenge for Us All, was published in November 1997 by the Home Secretary, Jack Straw. In the Runnymede report, Islamophobia was defined as "an outlook or world-view involving an unfounded dread and dislike of Muslims, which results in practices of exclusion and discrimination."
unfounded? did you even try looking? It's basically daily I hear of another Muslim killing a bunch of people and yelling out Allah Akbar, but Nothing to do with that. Oh no, its the unfounded dread and dislike of Muslims, we just can't understand why. -smh-

At a 2009 symposium on "Islamophobia and Religious Discrimination", Robin Richardson, a former director of the Runnymede Trust and the editor of Islamophobia: a challenge for us all, said that "the disadvantages of the term Islamophobia are significant" on seven different grounds,
No shit? you don't say? yelling out islmaphobe can be disadvantages? its a disadvantage to who? The person yelling out islamophobe or the person gitting called islamophobe?
including
that it implies it is merely a "severe mental illness" affecting "only a tiny minority of people";
Phobias are a "severe mental illness" affecting "only a tiny minority of people. Oh, right. We might not think a huge percent of the population is islmaophobic and that's no good.
that use of the term makes those to whom it is applied "defensive and defiant" and absolves the user of "the responsibility of trying to understand them" or trying to change their views;
Can't have people thinking its ok to be defensive or defiant about getting killed in the name of Allah, oh no, cant have that. I do agree that it absolves the user of "the responsibility of trying to understand them" or trying to change their views. Finally one half of a line I agree with.
that it implies that hostility to Muslims is divorced from factors such as skin color, immigrant status, fear of fundamentalism, or political or economic conflicts.
Hostility to Muslims is divorced from skin color and immigrant status because Muslims are of all races and immigrant status' around the world. Fear of fundamentalism and economic conflicts are rational things to fear so not a phobia. yelling out Islmaophobe has never removed fear of fundamentalism and economic conflicts from hostility towards Muslims.
that it conflates prejudice against Muslims in one's own country with dislike of Muslims in countries with which the West is in conflict.
the growing prejudice against Muslims has nothing to do with countries with which the West is in conflict with or the yelling out of islmaophobe. Part is because large numbers of Muslims are immigratingin and not willing to assimilate, forcing their rules and beliefs on the original population. The other part is the constant attacks and killings in the name of Allah.
that it fails to distinguish between people who are against all religion from people who dislike Islam specifically
Does it even matter? Especially if both are considered islmaophobic. Islam cares not if you believe in a different religion or no religion, you must submit or die.
and that the actual issue being described is hostility to Muslims, "an ethno-religious identity within European countries", rather than hostility to Islam.
No, the actual issue (looks at the headline)is islamophobia(fear), not negitive feelings or hostility towards Muslims or Islam. Can someone even be hostile towards Islam without being hostile to Muslims and when did an "ethno-religious identity within European countries" become the description for Muslims?
Nonetheless, he argued that the term is here to stay, and that it is important to define it precisely.
The term is not here to stay and will die, it has been yelled so much it has lost its ability to shut down the conversation. it has become soft. Defining it correctly is very important, so making distorted definations, like what Wikipedia is doing here is not helping us define it more properly. In fact it is distorting the word to where it can be shouted if anyone says anything about Islam and is not Muslim. Im sure ill get called one in the comments at some point.

This is only 2:2 of the whole page. I cant subject myself to this much cancer in one sitting. I need a quick break. I guess this is going to be part 1 of a series till I get thru the full page. Sorry I didn't get to the Islamophobia-phobia part yet but don't worry I will get to it at some point. if you get a chance you should check out the original page, just make sure you have your chemotherapy appointment scheduled.

Please feel free to leave me any comments, call me a cunt, whatever you got to get off your chest (hehe boobies), I will respond to them as soon as I get a chance. I really appreciate you taking the time to read my asshole rantings and if you enjoyed it please leave me an up vote.

Now fuck off cunts I'm trying to sleep! D8{

Sort:

The correct term for somebody who opposes the teachings of Islam would be anti-islam and those opposed to practitioners of Islam, Muslims, would be anti-muslim while people with an irrational fear of the teachings of Islam, I mean panic at the mention of the subject, would be islamophobic suffering from Islamophobia and I suggest they go see a phsycologist, the same if they're suffering from Muslamophobia; now if your bigoted toward people from the Middle-East you would be an anti-Semite or against people who speak the Semitic languages. God damn it I love words :)

I think you can be opposed to Islam and still not be anti-Islam unless everyone not willing to convert to Islam is considered anti-Islam. I also think the same about anti-Muslim. like I think I can be opposed to the teachings of Islam but not have a problem with the group of people as a whole. There are plenty of good people that think they are Muslim that I do not oppose.

At the same time thinking your a dog and wearing a dog suit does not make you a dog.

people with real phobias do need to see a phsycologist. it is a serious medical condition and using phobia to describe people because of negative thoughts does a disservice to people that really have phobias.

Isn't anti-Semite and semitic languages the jews? Im going to have to look it up now. lol

Thank you for your comment! I will try to get the next part of the page out in a day or two.

Hey @skeptic I was pointing out that the words that identity politically minded people use do not hold to their correct meaning, they are used for their emotional value and control narrative. The 'anti' prefix is best translated as 'against' as in to work against and 'phodia' is translated as fear. Here is another one for you homophobia translated to 'fear of that which is the same' it is a nonsense word, used in the context of people it says you fear that which you are. When people use these words you should demand clarification, that is the only way to get to the root of what they are accusing you of. Let's say I say your anti-islam well you might ask me if I meant you where against the Islamic religion as a whole, a position you can defend without being bigoted, so then I say no I mean you don't like Muslims well maybe you don't or maybe you don't like radicals, again being anti-radical would not be a bigoted position. The regressive left is very concerned about language, they understand the power of language to develop and communicating ideas or in their case police language and control ideas. Judge people by the content of their character and you can hold your head up high.

Said perfectly.
