You can be allergic to Wi Fi?

in #wifi8 years ago

Recently, a UK family claimed that the 15 year old daughter committed suicide after suffering allergic to WiFi signals. The strange condition has been called by the World Health Organization (WHO) electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS), which cause dizziness and skin irritation. But is this possible?

A group of people who claimed to be sensitive to electromagnetic signals from WiFi, computer screens and mobile phones took part in a survey to know how far this is a real condition. According to them, it was enough to ward off these signal sources for symptoms resolve.

However, research has shown that these people have not been able to determine, in the laboratory, when electromagnetic waves were present or were ceased. According to the author, these people had some kind of disease, but not necessarily it would be linked to the issuers of electromagnetic signals.

Dr. James Rubin, responsible for research, was unable to repeat the symptoms of people in lab tests

There is no scientific basis

The WHO itself does not characterize the electromagnetic hypersensitivity as a medical diagnosis, although no doubt the symptoms presented by people who say they suffer from this condition. The organization believes that there is no scientific basis to prove that electromagnetic frequencies can cause any allergies or dizziness.

The alleged symptoms presented by people who claim to have EHS are easily attributed to other diseases, so it is necessary to follow up on each case to identify the actual condition that the patient has. A headache, for example, may be the beginning of a cold or excess of caffeine in the body.

However, not everyone thinks so: in the US, a family filed a lawsuit against a private school after it was installed a 'WiFi system with industrial capacity "and presumably it would have caused health problems in your child. In France, a woman claims that had to live without electricity from the moment that their symptoms related to EHS worsened.

What do you think?

Electromagnetic hypersensitivity appears to be a disease of the modern world, although it has not been possible to play, until then, their symptoms in a controlled environment. It may be the fault of WiFi? Maybe so, but it is necessary to investigate whether other factors are not influencing that early diagnosis.

Meanwhile: you know someone with these symptoms? Have you ever felt bad in the presence of many connected devices and found that it could have something to do with technology?
