WHO IS JESUS

“Then said Jesus unto him, thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? Jesus said unto them, verily, verily, I say unto you, before Abraham was, I am”. In the above text, Jesus declared that he pre-dated the patriarch, Abraham. Obviously, this declaration did not go down well with the Jewish religious leaders of His day.

They took it as blasphemy and in fury wanted to stone Him. Ignorance about who Jesus is has hindered many from appropriating the salvation and other numerous blessings He brought for humanity.

In the book of Genesis, Jesus is introduced as the creator of the heaven and the earth. He is also referred to as the seed of the woman who would bruise satan’s head. In other words, he was to destroy satan’s power through His death on the cross. In exodus, he is the Passover lamb whose blood was sprinkled on the lintels of the houses of the Israelites securing them from God’s judgement meant for the Egyptians.

Leviticus presents Him as the lawgiver and High Priest who is pleading our cause before God with His atoning blood. The same book portrays Jesus as the bronze serpent lifted up in the wilderness as provision for healing from the bite of fiery serpents. Also, He is the captain of the army of Israel in Joshua; leading His children in their battles and ensuring victories all through. In the book of judges, He is the final judge who would judge the whole world in righteousness.

I Ruth, He is the near Kinsman and Restorer of our lives. First and second Samuels reveals Him as our trusted prophet. In Nehemiah, he is the rebuilder of the broken walls of our lives and families. He is the shepherd in the book of Psalm and our wisdom in the book of Proverbs. The list is just inexhaustible.

Friend, Jesus Christ is the perfect panacea to whatever problem you may be facing today. He is relevant to your situations and circumstances. Are you in want? Jesus is our provider, are you sick? He is the great Physician. Are you at the crossroads of life? He is the guardians and counselor. Do you want fulfillment in life? Jesus is the living water that will satisfy your thirst and give you the needed fulfillment.

Develop a good relationship with Jesus Christ and you will experience a turnaround in your life in Jesus name.
