A pretty little church in Beaufort in the Black Valley.
It is a Catholic Church called "Our Lady of the Valley". It was built in 1837 by the parishioners of the time on a site donated by Daniel O'Mahony of Dunloe Castle.
Beaufort Parish is rich in heritage - no less than 100 historical sites have been mapped throughout this parish.

Thank you. It is a small church in an absolutely stunning setting. Apparently the farmers, carpenters and anyone in the parish that had any type of skills all built the church themselves with no outside help.
