It can be expensive yes, but there are some really affordable ones. What kinda budget do you usually have for a bottle?

Never really pay over £35.00. Still love Glenfiddick, Macallan, Isle of Jura.
Do like a good malt matured in sherry casks.
I look at whats on special but for day today just buy blended Bells , Teachers etc
They are so many these days but because of the maturity length of time it is understandable they are not going to come cheap

The 12 year old Glenfiddich is always a good buy. Since you like big sherry whisky I really recommend the cask-strength No Age Statement bottle from the Aberlour distillery called "A'Bunadh." The different batches can vary quite a lot from year to year, but are generally brilliant and very affordable.
