The diary game 27-06-2020: Government distribute free vegetable seeds

Today passby the community garden and sudden realise that I forgot to register myself for the government's seed distribution programme.

The government of Singapore is distributing out free seeds to interested household (2 packs each household), to caltivate interest of the community to self grow the edible plants. So they will distribute 2 type of vegetable seed - one is leafy and one fruited.

Can refer to the charts for each different type of seeds going to distribute. And they have videos on the NPark website teaching how to grow each different type of seeds.

Registration is till the month end, interested singaporean household do remember to visit Npark website to sign up

I think this is very good initiative by the government to implant the sense of food security in this programme, especially after the covid19 pandemic. By planting your own food, one could realise how difficult is growing the food etc and as big picture, how a tiny country like Singapore which without any sizeable land for agriculture to secure its food supply in future should pandemic make a come back.

Anyway, after registration, I think I should go look for a decent size pot and soil to plant the vegetable seeds. Being a city boy, I dont have much chance to grow much plants especially the edible one. I think this going to be a good learning experience !
