The Diary Game 22 Jun 2020: Passport renewal from overseas

Today the main task is to renew my passport via the Malaysian government online portal.

Another impact Covid19 brought to me was the passport renewal, as this year my passport going to expire, but learnt from previous renewal experience, the most cost effective way of renew a passport is when it fall within half year expiry , as less days to be forfeited. (They will return the days up to half a year only, eg if you renew 7 months ahead, then you lose out 1 month validity)

But due to movement restrictions, me myself also long time never return to Malaysia and passport was left unused for long time until forgot it's going to expire soon.

Luckily the Malaysian Immigration department do have such service online, to let Malaysian Passport holders to renew passport online, and collect it from the local Malaysian Embassy.

From the list I saw, Malaysians reside in Singapore, UK, USA, Hong Kong & Jakarta able to have such passport renewal service at the Malaysian's Embassy.

After online application done, what you have to do is just wait one more day then you can go to the Embassy to collect your passport. This step you can skip away, but appear yourselves for collection.
