My Local Health Service

When talking about my Local Health Service, I feel very lucky I am born and raise in here Hong Kong, I guess many people have heard that the medical expense in the western countries are bloody expensive (especially in the States) you can barely afford the treatment fees without medical insurance.

But in Hong Kong, we have a very good medical system, and many hospitals running by government directly which absolutely make the medical and treatment costs lower. Say, you only have to pay HK$60 (approximately US$8.5) for the General Out-patient Clinics, and HK$10 (approximately US$1.5)for each medicine.

For the ER services, you only need to pay HK$ 180 (approximately US$23), if you have pay attention to my blog, you can find that I been to ER back to 11-May due to GE in virus form. I had been fever for more than 3 days which made me super scared (i thought I got COVID-19), then i immediately called 999 (equal to 911 in the States) telling them my situation and concerns. Then the ambulance arrived my home within 10 minutes. I was extremely worry I need to stay in ward for observation during that "interesting period", i probably will loss my job if I am forced to be quarantined by 14 days in ward. I didn't worry about the ward expense as it is talking about HK$ 120 a day, good enough huh!?

Although I had to wait about 7 hours in the ER for medical consultation, I am satisfied with their services, most importantly, I only had to pay HK$ 180 including medicines. But of course, it's better for us always stay healthy, it's too bad to being sick, right?
