Simeon and Levi: The Departed

in #where5 years ago

Flip sides of the same coin, the infamy of Simeon mirrors the fame of Levi. The most famous Levite: Moses. We will see him again. The most famous descendant of Simeon; I don't know. Manna. Je Ne Se Quoi. Both were bad boys.

Bible history paraphrased: the two plotted against an entire village of men, concerning the integrity of their sister, tricked these men into circumcision, then proceeded to kill them all by the edge of the sword (King James) A graphic depiction of how mighty two men with no guns can be when the opposition has recently lost their foreskin. No Novocaine, no down time, no chance to compose oneself in the face of vengeful brothers.

Enter the Scotch Irish.

Scots are known for shanking. I watch plenty prison shows, not all. Scotland does not take the time to hit you with the proper fist, like Conor McGregor; soft meat on the sides of the head and all that mixed martial arts hammer fist stuff. Scotch answer: fixed blade, held dagger style, business end down; and stick, and stick, and stick.

No commentary concerning the movie with Sheen, Marky Mark, DiCaprio, Matt Damon guest starring Jack Nicholson. That was an all star non Italian, non Russian cast, which held our attention. Other than the gift of gab, we have now learned precious little; except Erin Go Bragh is endearing as hell, accomplishing the same thing as La Cosa Nostra minus proper weaponry, daggers withstanding. Infamy or fame, we now have biblical ancestry for Scotland and Ireland. Choose your pick.
