Facts are stranger than fiction. And who doesn't love strange, right? That said, I bring to you 15 facts that you won't believe are true. So, get ready to be amazed, bewildered and overall confused. This is WhatTheFacts, raiser of eyebrows and teller of facts. Enjoy!

1. In Japan, you can hire a handsome man to watch sentimental movies with you and wipe away your tears.


2. Heroin was once given to children as a substitute for morphine, and was also used to alleviate coughing fits in young children.

15. The founders of Google were willing to sell Google for $1 million to Excite in 1999, but Excite turned them down. Google is now worth $527 Billion.

I'd suggest you to put the sources from where you collect the facts. It makes it easier to read more about it than to manually google all the facts. It also makes your post more credible.

The Greenland name thing was an early exercise in marketing I believe. The Norse really needed people to emigrate (was getting too crowded in Scandinavia) so they made the place out to be a little more verdant than it was to incourage people to move there.

yes, it's a fact! :)

It is. The people who sold me my pet parrot said giving him avocado could cause him to bleed from the beak and die!

I don't know which was more socking , the giving away of babies as prizes or marrying a dead person.

Did you know all the ants in world weigh more than all the people in the world? Not sure about the pyramid one, got to google that, sounds kind of bogus

after 2 minutes of google I think it's a hoax

it's one of those things which gets covered up quickly, for reasons unknown.

I want to know more about the glass pyramids! Interesting stuff, keep it up!!
