Lots of us have question in our mind. What is STEEM WITNESS ? In this topic I'll briefly explain the steem witness.
however the term a Witness can be associated with the STEEM blockchain. The STEEM blockchain requires a number of people to create blocks and uses a consensus mechanism called Delegated Proof of Stake, or DPOS. Proof of Stake isn't about mining in cryptocurrency. it's about validating. These blocks still need to be created by someone, and who gets to create the next block depends on the specific Proof of Work, but the selection process must have some kind of randomness, or at least distribute voting shares.
Who can become a STEEM Witness ?
Those people who are willing to contribute to blockchain can become a witness. It means anyone can become a witness. But the rule of becoming a witness is through votes which is made by steemit community. The people delegated to create these blocks are called or refered to as witnesses.
Those people who have become witness those are the most trusted members of community who are the people which keeps the Blockchain secure.
Before voting for witness to someone be sure that they have good record because the decision of witness members which they make can effect whole steemit community so be sure and use your witness vote for proper people
For how much witness we can vote ?
All users of steemit are entitled to 30 Votes for electing 30 witnesses. These witness are expected to keep a node running in every second of every day
