Whaleshares is a system where lower down the blockchain accounts (minnows and planktons alike), are rewarded for taking part in contests and challenges, by being given a token they can exchange for a whale vote. This is my entry to @officialfuzzy 's "What would you do if you could have your own whale token?" contest.

Rewarding quality creative content creators

My token would be based on the same premise as Whaleshare's, with the goal of providing newer users a platform where they are rewarded for their efforts in the community. However it would be specifically for 'creatives' on the blockchain, rewarding and encouraging the best artists and creators.
Our mission would be to help accelerate the growth of the creative community and provide upcoming artists with a reliable platform, where their voices can be heard, valuable advice given, rewarded for their efforts, and of course, generally promote decent content that deserves to be seen.

I feel the whole idea behind Steem, is amazing, and really could be the future for new artists to find their feet. I also think that if enough effort is put into building a creative community here, that it could help to inspire people to find more time to be creative, something people often lack due to dayjobs and other financial commitments. My vision is the future of Steem to be the Number One purpose for creative people.

How Tokens Will Be Earned

So the idea of this 'community' would be to hunt down, and inspire, well written, informative, or useful content that genuinely adds value to the blockchain. There would be weekly opportunities for active members of the community to participate, such as tasks or on going contests, and there will also be open entry contests for everybody across Steem. There would be
The subject of the contests would be varied and cover many topics and creative mediums, each week the subject and accepted mediums would be decided by a different member of the board of 'governors', a selected group of individuals who either help to set us up, or have been with us since the beginning and have proven themselves to be committed to the programme.
The topics inspiring the contests would be meaningful, with the idea being to inspire change through creatives means.

Some ideas for contests are as followed;

• If you had the power to change one issue we face as a society, what would it be and why?
• What does life mean to you?
• What is the most unfair thing in the entire world, what are some solutions?

Other Ways Users Can Earn Tokens

I thought some sort of encouragement scheme would be a really effective way to help out the newbies, whilst helping the build and expand the community. Members would get rewards for regular upvotes, resteems, participation on the blog and discord channel and comments. High performing members within the community that support each other will be monitored by us, and each rewarded for their efforts.

Purpose of the Project

The ongoing purpose of the project would be to develop a dedicated community of creative people, who do not make full time livings on their passion, that will help each other grow. I want to see Steemit's creative side grow, and I want that trending page to be full of hard working, ORIGINAL, content. And I no longer wish to see excited creatives join steem with huge hopes, only to leave shortly afterwards because their content is just being lost in a sea of, mostly shit.
