Quarterback Blog #1

I have now had a few football practices and they were great so far!

During the first practice we went through some of our plays. We also did 40 yard dash times which were pretty fun. My time was 5.6 seconds which I was happy with, however I definitely want to run faster.

On the second day we ran stairs most of the practice because the weather outside was horrible. Running stairs is pretty fun in my opinion but after a few minutes it starts to burn your legs.

Today we installed a lot of our plays. If you are very knowledgeable in football you'd know that normally the wholes are numbered by evens on one side and odds on the other side. However in our middle and high school offenses we do things differently. We number the wholes (gaps in between lineman) by what number that number typically wears. And than we add a 1 in front of it if it is going to the left.

For example Wing Right 52 trap would be a run to the right (there is no 1 in front) and given to the fullback because he is the number 2. The wing right part describes the formation which is like this picture here.

That might have gone over your head, and if it did go ahead and comment below your questions!
