Steemit Whale Sounds

in #whales8 years ago

There's a lot of talk about Steemit's whales, and how big an influence they have on the content of the site.

In an effort to quantify the contributions of some of the largest whales, I've put together a list of Cetacae and the accounts which they represent, along with a clip of their various songs.

Blue Whale

@ned: With >3M Steem Power, by far the largest account.

Fin Whale

@dan, @blocktrades: At >2M Steem Power each, still impressively sized accounts.

Right Whale

@jamesc, @ben, @berniesanders: At around 1.8M Steem Power each, these are relatively massive accounts.

Sperm Whale

@smooth, @val-a, @dantheman: At <1.5M Steem Power each, these are still some serious contenders.

Having covered accounts 2-10, I think that summarizes the size of the true Steemit heavy hitters pretty well.

I'd now like to give a shout-out to the more earthly creatures among us

Dolphins

Playful and loud, a pretty apt description for a lot of the more mid-sized accounts on Steemit.

Minnows

Of such little importance there are no recordings of the sounds they make anywhere I've looked. Don't worry, though, there are still a lot more of us than any of the other types of accounts listed!

So, which type of account are you? If you're a whale, which kind of whale would you like to be? Let me know in the comments!
