Consistency Creates Whales
Do you want to be a whale on steemit? Do you want to have influence over posts? The short answer is just be consistent. Whether it is posting, or commenting. Actively participate in curating great content, the more you comment and contribute value, the more you will be noticed and eventually you will become a whale.
Great information, people create content just for the sake of creating content and hopefully getting money. Users need to understand that they should bring value to the platform first and then the votes will come.
Exactly, that's why software developers such as @xeroc are doing so well because they are positively contributing to the community through developing great products!
yep.
Look at beyondbitcoin hangouts as a for instance. I ran #beyondbitcoin for nearly 3 years (paying out of pocket many times) and even when I "earned" bitshares for it, chose to pay it forward to others. Because of my level of sacrifice and persistence I can post a beyondbitcoin hangout, where we talk about the technology that is underlying both #bitshares and #steem, there is a small army of people who appreciate my persistence and attittude toward CREATING VALUE and BUILDING COMMUNITY and will likely upvote me every week for almost 1k SBD.
Those who hate "whales" (i'm a baby beluga) do not see the years of effort and all the times I didn't go on vacation...didn't sleep in...worked extra hours to pay for things beyondbitcoin needed...the nights i didnt sleep cuddling with my wife and baby because i was up editing...etc. All many see is that someone is getting paid for their content and it "isn't any better than mine". I have news for people----it is about the network of friends and the value you provide them as much as it is the content you produce. And networks of friends need you to constantly prove your value over time for them to grow substantially.
Great effort and good work. I am about to go onto the STEEM podcast run by @forrestwillie this coming monday to talk about precisely this. Make sure to listen!
Thanks for the input! I would say I'm more of a barracuda haha, I just got into cryptocurrency around 3 months ago, and as a developer I am still learning the ropes in terms of building applications in the crypto-space. I have been participating in relatively new projects such as ElectricChain (SolarCoin foundation project) and Yours Network. I will make sure to definitely check out that podcast by @forrestwillie
so I'm doing, and I forget the American dream of hunting whales, a whale grow up and I'll be ready ... take time and dedication and put intelligence into what you write
Meanwhile enjoy swimming in the sea of steem. Evolve! Transform yourself.
