A WE-Write Sunday Edition

The WE-Write, I write, You write has been popular in the Freewrite community ever since our 100 Day Freewrite celebration. That was a long, long time ago!

Now, we are mixing it up a little and we are featuring one of you, dear freewriters, as the story starter.

If you like your story to be featured as the start, as the inspiration of the next great novel (or at least story) let me know in the comments, in the Freewrite House discord channel (https://discord.gg/9WecGBg) or DM Marianne on discord mariannewest#6102

The beginning of your story written by @zeldacroft - please give your story a title

With a gentle click, the door closed behind her. Dragged down by her heavy, black coat, she stood still in the dim mudroom. The sense of an empty, silent house was overwhelming. It felt off, the way a dream mimicking reality never feels quite right. But this was real.
She tried taking a step further inside, and then another. Each time was methodic and careful, as if her legs would give out. Through numbness and lost thoughts, she found herself at the edge of the dining room. The curtains were drawn closed, leaving the room in reflective shadows. The familiarity was faint too, echoed in the faded wallpaper, the framed photos.
Hesitantly, she placed her hand on the back of a dining chair, feeling the cool, smooth wood against her skin. A choking sensation arose as her eyes welled with tears. They spilt as she let go of the chair to try and wipe them away. How am I supposed to do this?
It was then that she noticed the light leaking in from the next room. The blinding shards, cast against the dark floor, interrupted her despair. With curious trepidation she followed them into the cozy kitchen, which was illuminated by the brightness beaming in from the window. She saw the golden glow softening the shadows, the gilded highlights sparking on the sink, and the evergreen trees beyond, basking in the daylight.

The Bones of Home

So happy to see you here!

So glad that you are writing with us!!

Hey, @freewritehouse!

Thank you for your contribution to the crowd. We are the Steemit project dedicated to empowering The Wisdom of Crowds. You can find more about us on our official blog or whitepaper and you can support us by voting for our witness and joining our curation trail on Steemauto . We are also inviting you to join Crowdmind Discord server. Don't forget to use the #crowdmind hashtag and happy crowdsourcing!

Additional comment: Creative writing is one of the most beautiful ways of approaching the crowd. It would be very interesting to see how can you develop final works. When we started our projects we had some ideas about potential crowdsourcing manifestations on the platform. One of them was using the crowd wisdom in shaping the final literary works – to see how the crowd could do concepts, chapters, editing of existing stories and at the end, who knows – maybe the best ones could be crowdfunded to become the hard copy publications which will reach the readers beyond the Steemit.

Best regards
@hidden84

@hidden84 thank you so much for your comment. I will join the server as mariannewest and maybe we can come up with something fun.
