RE: The Smell of Carbon (We-Write #14)

in #wewrite5 years ago (edited)

A clever twist on the tale - I love stories like these! Like the hitchhiker and the scarf or sweater left on the grave (urban legends) and the date on the tombstone.... this was a fun read, and well done!
(Some of these we-writes are plagued with typos, punctuation errors, and syntax problems, but that's usually due to non-native English speakers. You've done well!)

Sort:

I will have to look up the urban legends you've mentioned. I love stories like that too. I agree there's much to learn. Thank you so much for dropping by! I appreciate the encouraging words too. ^_^

The ghost stories are many - no need to look 'em up; you had one inside your own head, and yours is more sophisticated and fresh and fun to read!
Urban Legend - one became a song - the Letter Sweater:
Guy meets girl; verse 2, she asks for his letter sweater because she is “very very cold.” The singer walks her to her door, kisses her goodnight, and starts home. Remembering his sweater, he returns immediately to the house. A man answered the door, and the singer tells him why he was there. The song continues:

You’re wrong son
You weren’t with my daughter
How can you be so cruel
To come to me this way
My daughter left this world on her birthday
She died a year ago today.
