WELLNESS PROGRAMS ARE EFFECTIVE

HEY guys
Now days I am listening only thing I don’t have time to exercise and I can’t control my diet habits because I do not have options ,ultimately health suffers.
Being healthy is not only good for the employee; it is also good for the employer. Employers can reduce health care costs and benefits by encouraging a healthier workforce. Healthy employees use less sick time, reduce their level of stress, and increase their energy and attention spans
Reducing obesity rates through changing diets and increasing physical activity is a key target for public health policy as it places individuals at greater risk for conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
In recent years, many companies have established wellness programs which can be effective in helping people to be healthy by providing healthier food choices and increasing opportunities for physical activity, particularly if these efforts are designed with the input and active participation of employees, a new study confirms.
Dietary habits of the employees can be change when dieticians met with cafeteria managers to help them modify recipes so that the same meals could be prepared with fewer calories or in smaller portions, explain employees importance of healthy food choices at the cafeteria or the vending machine They also organized workshops that shared healthy recipes for the employee who bring food from home, suggest many options of eating out especially before and during the holidays.

Physical activity programs varied depending upon the worksite. Some sites marked out walking routes or organized walking clubs or other outdoor activities during breaks. Some companies also provide gym facilities also.

It is fine if you don’t have these options. You can follow below giving tips

· Take short fitness breaks (3-5 minutes each) suggested below every hour throughout the day.
· Aim for walking a total of 30 minutes during the workday breaks and lunchtime.
· Walk up and down the stairs a few times.!
· Stand up and sit down a few times to loosen your muscles
· Walk in place in front of your desk for a few minutes.
· Taking the stairs burns five times more calories than taking the elevator.
· Set a goal to increase your number of steps per day and increase it periodically.
