Kidnapped

Prompt #1

My only defense was to write down every word they said.

I was surrounded by shady looking characters. The leader of the gang glowered at me, a deep scar leading from nose to ear pulled his nose up in an unnatural way and exposed a canine in the right side of his mouth.

"We got nothing to say to you, lady.

I scribbled on my notepad furiously. I felt sweat popping under my shirt.

Why was the new reporter assigned to this terrifying gang???

"We aren't moving!"

"Well, I appreciate your position," I weakly stated.

The bald member with a missing tooth pounded his fist on a desk loaded with beer bottles and an empty pizza box. The bottles rattled and one fell and shattered on the cement below and I flinched instinctively.

"We ain't giving up the building, it's ours!"

I scribbled the bald member's statement.

"The new apartment complex will hold 200 people and we need this space to house the local workers," I replied, as instructed.

Promp #2

Eloise was my half-sister, but everyone thought she was my cousin, she was the only one I told about my assignment at the strip outside the factory complex.

My phone vibrated on the desk by me. The short guy with a soul patch growled,
"Who is that? The news??"

A tall scrawny guy spoke,
"Boss, grab the phone!"

The scar guy nodded and snatched my phone and answered.

"Thanks for the peace offering, but we're gonna keep her!"

I heard Eloiuse scream on the other end.

"If you want her back, we want $1,000,000 by noon tomorrow!"

He pocketed my phone with a sly smile.

"Your boss is an idiot, lady."

The bald man was behind me and grabbed my wrists and wrapped them in a tight leather strap, the scar man pulled some duct tape from his coat and put a strip over my mouth.

If I get out of this, I'm quitting the Tribune.

Prompt 3

The last time they saw a movie, Eloiuse passed out when the murderer entered the room. Of all people to be the only one to know my whereabouts, my chances of escape just dropped exponentially. She was most likely passed out where she sat.

A loud knock startled my captors at the door.

"Who the hell is that!" The scarred man roared at his gang.
