I haven't seen a purple squirrel before, all I've seen are black or grey in colour, and the days of seeing such near you are gone. Civilization has wiped out some fun and replace it with games, we'll rather hit some console at the FIFA 2018 or PES 2018 game and other adventurous games like Army of Two and the likes.
That is just a little out of all this things, I've heard and I've seen that back then when lovers want to take themselves out for leisure, they all go and find a serene place where nature and beauty meet, it may be a beach, some quiet part of a forest, or deep inside the jungle, yes, I've heard stories like that. In this deep bush you'll see animals in there calm state for they know an hunter from two crazy cupid shot dudes. So you see them gently walking there way, admiring each other.
Things have changed now, the days are gone, you dare not think of taking your girlfriend to the forest or beach, everyone prefer the purse cracking mall, buy this and that, and when stepping out you'll later come to your sense that 80% of what you've bought weren't needed at all.
Then why do all this then? Tell me.

Some wise old man once told me "we want more because we have more"... actually, no one told me that, I read it somewhere, but to explain things: everyone has a certain void in them, a missing piece of shorts, but not everyone is even concious of that. In any case, the easy way of "filling" that void (albeit temporally) is by having things, because obtaining something does give a sense of acomplishment, even if a second later we realize how stupid it was, because we wanted "to get something" but not that something. Its easy, and society gets used to that.
FOMO... Because everyone is doing that...
There're still people like going to the beach or forest... Nature lovers will still go, right?
