None of the patients would follow this squeaky man's voice

That's perfect. The only therapy that seems to be going on here is a rest, a break from the pressures of the outside. I think this is often the case. People need a chance to catch their breaths, to get away from pressure.

Of course, a motivated psychiatrist, one who doesn't draw squirrels during session, might also be helpful :)
