WeedCash Network: How To Claim And Stake (Power UP) WEED Tokens - A Guide

So you've jumped on board The Weedcash Network and have written a post about some aspect of Cannabis or Psychedelics. 4 days pass and payout time comes. You, the author get 60% and the rest goes to the folk who voted for your post. Perhaps you are due some of that 40% curation, even if you haven't authored a post.

Either way, you know you have some WEED tokens and would like to get your hands on them, but where are they?

• The process is not the same as on Steem or on Smoke.
• The wallet used for your WEED tokens is Steem Engine. This is NOT the same as your Steem(it) wallet.
• If you are still somewhat confused about The Weedcash Network in general, have a look at this post which will explain all and will also provide further links.

Right, now that we've set the background context. Let's go step by step through the process of claiming and staking (powering up) WEED:

• When your post hits payout, you will need to make a claim for the amount you are due.

• You claim your rewards by clicking the following link:

• This will launch Steemconnect:
  

• Enter your details and when you hit 'sign in', the transaction will be confirmed:
  

• Next log into Steem Engine (the 'wallet' link in WCN also goes to Steem Engine). The Keychain extension is the way to go but you can use Steemconnect as well if you prefer:
  

• In your WALLET, you will see options for claiming your tokens as per the image below. Please note that the 'claim' options will ONLY be visible if you have tokens to claim :)
  

• Click the option to 'claim Weed tokens'. If you have Keychain installed you will see what I see below. If not, Steemconnect will do your dirty work for you:
  

• Once the transaction has been confirmed, the amount will be added to the 'Balance' against the WEED token in your wallet:
  

• Finally, Stake (power up) your tokens by clicking on the 'lock' icon (stake tokens). The dialogue box will appear as below, enter the amount you wish to stake and hit 'STAKE WEED'.
  

That's it, the amount will be added to what you already have staked and your vote value will increase proportionally.

Some points to note:

• The Weedcash network effectively works as a layer on top of the Steem blockchain. Transactions are currently slower than what you would expect on Steem - for example, when you vote there is a lag and it will take a little longer to update than on Steem. Please be patient, this technology is in its infancy and is being worked on
• A vote on the Weedcash Network is only worth something if you have staked (powered up) WEED. It does not matter how much Steem you have. When you are logged into WCN only WEED tokens circulate!
• It only occurred to me to make this guide after I had claimed a payout. The amount shown in the screenshots (>0.1 WEED) is not enough to stake (power up) and I have used a bit of photoshopping on the last few slides to complete the picture. I only mention this for the eagle-eyed who may have spotted the discrepancies - nice ;)
