Very nice and interesting post/. I retire in a few months and will definitely be visiting Bucharest (old centre) and other parts of Romania. I love Eastern Europe and it's long history. We were in Croatia (Zagreb and surrounds) earlier this year.
Coming from South Africa it is a very costly, time consuming journey to Europe.
