Wednesday Walk in the Rain

Last Wednesday, I was on a mission.

My car is in the shop right now and as the weather has been chilly and wet, I tried to pick the best day to go buy my Halloween candy! It still wasn't a nice day so I had a 45 minute walk in the rain. On the bright side, at this time of year it might easily have been snow.

The rain and recent hail is really bringing the leaves down. My most direct path was straight down this street and back, and I was all business on the way there. I bought the candy and turned around.

Now for a more leisurely return trip. I peeked out from under the umbrella, above, at one of Ottawa's articulated buses. I prefer to think of them as "slinky" buses like the slinky toy.

Autumn brings out a Monet quality to photos. On a nice day, kicking the fallen leaves is entertaining, even for adults, and the deeper the leaves, the better. Unfortunately, today the wet leaves are plastered to the sidewalk.

This area is colourful. It's just not colourful enough to take my mind off of my soaking wet feet. I should have worn boots.

It started raining harder again.

Here is one maple tree that still has most of its leaves, not for long. There aren't many still like that.

About now was when I took refuge in the deli.

Continuing up the street, I passed some very sad looking sumac trees before my walk ended.
