Today is #WednesdayWalk initiated by @tattoodjay. A feel-good kind of challenge where just participating leans into a healthier way of life. Even if it is only a tad.

I went for a walk on the beach when I knew that the sun was going to take a break and the clouds and rain would be parading their way in. I love the roll of the waves responds, bringing out the surfers.

I am getting ahead of myself.
First, there must be flowers. Always flowers.

Otherwise, it would be just like a day without sunshine, no?

I walk down from the parking lot, slipping my feet out of my sandals, letting the sand warm my feet. Sand and surf. It doesn't get any better than that. So many bronzed bodies bobbing up and down in the water.

A-frame – a wave shaped like a peak that breaks both left and right, equally

Air/Aerial – is a maneuver in which the board leaves the surface or the water/wave

Ankle busters – waves that are too small to ride

Backdoor – going inside a tube/barrel, also known as the curl of the wave, from behind its peak

Barney – a surfer that is not cool, untalented, rookie

The sirens are singing. It starts out so innocent and sunny, luring people down to the shore.

From the veil of darkness
Sunshine, the loveliness

Then unleashed the storm. People didn't move an inch, just played in the surf, tipping their face into the rain, cleansing their souls.

Oh, their souls

Just like that, the storm was over. Just like my walk. But, there was more beauty to be found on my way back to the parking lot. Just like a glorious sunset, the best comes last.

She emerged like flowers in spring
Spreading beauty and life everywhere
Life takes her
To extraordinary spaces
Her love for living
Makes her magically beautiful
Always

If a butterfly ever chances your way
If the sun shines on your soul
If you turn your eyes to magic in life
Your smile will never fade

The world really needs more butterflies

What is the Wednesday Walk Challenge?

This challenge created by @tattoodjay. Here are the guidelines from one of his recent posts:

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.

Try and get a few shots not just one

You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.

Try to limit yourself to a set distance or time from the starting location, say 5 Blocks, 5 Minutes walk or whatever and see what you can find in that short distance

Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all.

Following me and resteeming the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion, but you may have a better chance of receiving a Steem Basic Income Share if you do.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

I will try and visit, resteem and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk, plus I will be sending @steembasicincomeshares to a selection of those who participate.

These shots were actually taken on a Wednesday but as I say above your walk can be any day of the week.
